TY - GEN T1 - An Examiniation on the Effects of Simulations AU - Collins, Kayla AU - Cuevas, Josh AB - The goal of the study was to look at the effects of implementing social studies simulations in a 1st grade classroom. Simulations assist students in learning content by creating authentic learning experiences. The study looked at how simulations impacted student interest, willingness to learn, and academic levels through 2 historical role play simulations. The study took place for 6 weeks. The researcher analyzed 6 children through a frequency recording observation form looking at student engagement. In addition, 23 participants completed a survey given 3 times throughout the course of the study.
