TY - GEN T1 - Cotton and Clay Company AU - Turpin, Caroline AB - Happiness is the most important thing in life. More so than having high art pieces in museums I want to put a smile on someone’s face. Art is not just a painting hung on a wall or a sculpture in a rich person’s house. Art is in the songs about love playing on the radio all day, your favorite piece of clothing, and the coffee mug you gave a loved one for a gift. Art is consumed in little reminders of the memories that we share with one another every day. My whole life I have been surrounded by art. My father a photographer, grandfather a musician, and many other family members working in this industry. From a young age, I spent much time at a studio watching artists create, goof off, and spread their passion with one another. Being surrounded by this environment taught me to find a passion and work for myself. As long as you try hard and have talent you have the ability to obtain whatever career goals you wish. My work is a sampling of some of the hand-built pottery and woven pieces that I have learned to create throughout my time in college. I chose to get a degree in Art Marketing with a concentration in Ceramics. Using the tools I have gained in college I hope to create my own successful business and social media presence in order to sell my art work. I have been selling my products on both Etsy and in local markets throughout the last year and a half in order to support myself throughout college and plan on continuing after. All of the pieces in my show are available for sale on my Etsy page. Simply scan the QR code below and you will be redirected to my sight where you can purchase, look at all of the items, share with friends, and find more details about shipping!
